"Let There Be..." were the very first words spoken by God. This is where it all began! Even though this devotional does not focus on creation as most do, it does focus on individuals and families. It is about personal growth. There is no perfect person or family. God uses imperfect people to carry out his perfect plan. These words were a reminder for me to begin again! God spoke then. He speaks now reminding us to be active in our purpose. I pray that Let There Be will be a tool for you to begin again and be active in your relationship with God!
Just a peek of Let There Be- A Genesis Experience Devotional...
Genesis 1:1-3 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
God created…the Spirit of God moved…God said…God saw…God divided…God called…God made…God set…God blessed…From the beginning, God was active in purpose. Created, moved, said, saw, divided, etc. are all verbs (action verbs to be exact). We must allow God to be active in our lives. He has a divine purpose for us. You are not a mistake. God does not make mistakes! You have purpose just as I have purpose! We have to be active in seeking what God has for us. It is not going to fall into our laps. We have to be proactive and productive as God was in Genesis 1. One of the verses that stands out most for me is Genesis 1:3: “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” God said, let there be… So, in prayer, whatever the need may be, let there be action on our part to pray to an active God, who has a special plan for only you and me, who is the master creator of everything. Let him be our source. He gave us dominion (power) over the earth, over every creeping thing up on the earth. Genesis 1:26 says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” He gave us authority to be active in dominion over what we face on this earth. It is up to you and me to be active. Take dominion over everything that is coming against you. We must take authority over our hearts and homes. Let us decide today to reset and rededicate our lives for His purpose, His plan, and His kingdom.
Prayer:
Lord, let there be action in purpose in our lives. Help us to be begin again in you. We need a new start, a new beginning, a clean slate. Be active in our lives, oh Lord. When we wake, let us decide today - and everyday - to live our lives for you. Let us pray the words of the Psalmist in Psalm 51:10: “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” Help us to reset, refocus, and be proactive/productive in daily tasks for your glory. Help us to take dominion and authority over our hearts and homes! Help us to do what you have called us to do and be who you have called us to be. Remind us that everything we do, whether big or small, should be for your kingdom. Help us to be intentional in everything we do. Let everything we do, say, touch, and think be for your glory and the furtherance of your kingdom. Lord, help us to fulfill the purpose you have planned for us. In Jesus Name!

This verse kept running through my mind as I read today’s devotional here. I appreciate the call to action to be active and intentional in all we do and pray. ♥️
